“While Evading Extradition… ”
“Tess of the d’Urbervilles” brought to life,
lovely cinematography,
lush costumes and set design,
nuanced performances,
faithful scene-by-scene,
slow but steady.
Sir Hardy
would be
proud!
Notes: Consider this film may have never been made, or at least would have been completely different, had director Roman Polanski not been charger and plead guilty to sexual assault (for the first time) in 1977. Although this film is set in England, filming on-would have resulted in his extradition. Polanski had to make do elsewhere. Which he did so- impressively. Hiding out in France, an entire Stonehenge was reconstructed for his purposes!
