Still Waiting
Knew it would be inappropriate, turns out to also be extremely obscene and repulsive. Call me a prude, but barely any of the humor had me laughing; almost all of the humor had me shuddering inside if even only slightly. Much of the plot focused on “The Penis Showing Game” (better off not knowing the ridiculous details and times to). Which was not censored. Felt like I was forcing myself to finish watching, for- yes, I did appreciate the portrayal of the inevitable miseries that come along with working in customer service; the food industry. Although that was not the best, either, with how exaggerated it was. I have worked in the food industry. Often thought as watching, “I remember that”, “Know how that feels”; but mostly it was “I wish I could have done that”. Because most of this does not happen in real life. Partially wanted to watch this to see Dane Cook act. But he did not act. What makes him funny in his stand-up- his bluntness, brashness, haminess, loudness- is exactly what made him a nuisance and a bad actor here. The only redeeming aspect here were some of the more level-headed characters, like Dean, Calvin, and even Bishop, who I adored in “Pushing Daisies”. Would have seen this as redeeming the film a little- until the end credits, anyways. The rap song by Nick & T-Dog. Suspect this was not included in the regular film time because of how explicit and invidious it is. One of the most offensive and tasteless things seen in recent years. Surprisingly, the best part of this despicable film was actually the last ten seconds with the Rube Goldberg machine. Highly recommend fast forwarding through the beginning credits if not the entire film and watching this for fun.
Looking for some fun-
Served tasteless humor instead;
Still waiting to laugh.
